Steep Take offs and “Noserider” Take Offs
Steep take offs can be scary and dangerous on a foil, and also super fun, exciting, and satisfying.
Getting hucked over the falls, face planting, and then getting run over by the foil is not fun.
In these videos I show how I make steep drops in overhead powerful waves, the technique works for me in any size waves. I also use this technique on downwinders and wing dinging. The second technique I show is how to catch waves that seem uncatchable or that barely break.

In this video I show various methods of turning out of, kicking out, or exiting a wave.
Breaching, or flying the foil out of the water usually leads to a fall and or missing the wave.
The three times I hurt myself learning to foil were due to roll falls and my inability to fall safely. In these videos I explain what a roll fall is, how they happen, how to fall safely, and how to prevent.
In these videos I explain hip movement and its effect on the foil and altitude, for me this is a crucial skill or movement required for foil surfing.
In these videos I show and explain foot placement, both front and back and left to right, in relation to the front wing and how this effects foil control. I also explain the why and when I move the mast instead of my feet and what effect this has on foiling. For me foot placement has been crucial to have precise control and fly the foil wherever I want. When my feet are out of place or I don't know where my feet are in relation to the front wing I flail and crash.
