The other day I test rode a mid aspect foil, a higher aspect foil, and a true high aspect foil wing back to back to back. I made videos contrasting the different feels and my experience and take away on the three different aspect ratios.
I wish there were wing foil lessons when I was learning to foil, would have saved me a lot of money and frustration. Once I figured out what gear and conditions I needed, success and progression came quickly. I made this Learn to Foil Video Course to help everyone put themselves in the right conditions on the right gear and have fun learning this amazing new adventure we call wing foiling.
Harnesses are a great way to point further upwind and rest the arms and prolong a fun session. Being attached to a powerful wing up high on a tall foil can also be intimidating and lead to a scary fall. In this video tutorial series I show and explain various harnesses and hooks, both metal spreader bars and hooks, and the ding free hooks. I also show how to hook in and hook out in various wind strengths, and on bigger 6 and 8 meter wings. I also go over what can go wrong and how to protect oneself and stay safe.

This tail wing video tutorial shows the different tail wing shapes and how they fly. I explain what the different shapes and sizes do, and how they feel when foiling. Also how a beginner can choose the best tail for learning and then what tail to move onto as they progress. Finishing with some talk of bolt patterns and switching between different brands of tails.

Shimming and Wedging the angle of our foil wings can be confusing, in this video series I explain how, why, and when to adjust the angle of incidence of our foil tail wing, front wing, and mast. In these videos I show and explain 3 ways to shim or wedge a foil and how each change effects flight.
The first three videos are animations explaining how shimming works and why to do it. The next four videos I show how I shim a foil.

This video series shows wind direction and how to wing foil in the direction we want to go. Using animation I created a map of Crissy Field in San Francisco and show the various ways a winger will get pushed depending on the wind direction and which way the current is flowing. I go through the four seasons showing the changing wind directions, and show what the wind does as storms pass through. This information can be applied to any beach in the world.

Larger wings have made wonderful advances and are now enjoyable to use and session savers for when the wind gets really light.
I found the first couple generations of bigger wings (6+ meter) to be hard on my body and difficult to manage, the F-one Strike CWC design changed this for me.
